8:19Why China’s Man-Made Islands Are Sinking
Save referenceExpectation Violation
A whole island built from nothing, and it is going under. That twist earns the look on its own. But the text repeats the title almost word for word, so a full surface sells an idea the viewer already has.
The title names the failure and hints a reason exists.
The thumbnail shows the island looking fine, then restates the title over it.
When a big built thing is failing, show it looking calm and normal, then let one surface name the failure. Spend the other surface on something new, like the cost or the cause.
Repeated text wastes the scarcest pixels on screen.
What to avoid copying
Do not repeat the title in the thumbnail text. Give that space a second job, such as the price tag or the thing that went wrong.
Apply this pattern to your next video.
Bring the reference into a packaging brief, then decide what your title and thumbnail should each communicate.
