16:20World's Tallest Elephant Toothpaste Volcano (I FINALLY DID IT!!)
Save referenceScale & Specificity
The foam tower means nothing until you spot the circled human, and then it is enormous. The truck doubles the ruler. Labelling the small familiar thing, not the big strange one, is what makes the size land in half a second.
Title
The title claims the world record and adds the personal quest behind it.
Thumbnail
The circled human and the truck turn the foam jet into a measured giant.
Use this when size is your whole promise. Put a person or car beside the big thing and label the small one so nobody misses the ruler. If the scale is ordinary, borrowing this only shows it.
Label the ruler, not the giant
Turn the lesson into a decision
Apply this pattern to your next video.
Bring the reference into a packaging brief, then decide what your title and thumbnail should each communicate.
