7:55I Asked Richard Branson How To Make $1,000,000
Save referenceCuriosity Gap
Most people know Richard Branson's face, so the thumbnail borrows a billionaire's authority straight away. The quote says even he made no money until he did one thing. It never says what 'this' is, so the one thing is what you click for.
'I Asked' says this is Branson's own answer, not someone summarising him, and $1,000,000 names the outcome would-be founders want most.
The red arrow ties the quote to Branson, and the yellow second line, 'until I did this', puts the colour on exactly the part that's held back.
If you interview someone far more famous than you, put their face first and a short quote from them that stops just before the key detail. Let the title say what you asked them.
Quote the famous guest, and cut off before the answer.
Apply this pattern to your next video.
Bring the reference into a packaging brief, then decide what your title and thumbnail should each communicate.
