8:03The Truth About POODLES
Save referenceCuriosity Gap
Poodles are known as pampered show dogs, and these are groomed like it, in every size from giant to tiny. His face is dead serious, though. The title never says if the truth is good or bad news, so owners click to find out.
'The Truth About' says the usual picture is wrong somewhere, and naming the breed alone can pull poodle owners plus doodle owners, whose dogs are half poodle.
A giant poodle either side and a tiny one on his palm show the whole breed in one balanced shot, but The Truth just repeats the title's words.
When your topic has an image everyone knows, pose with the most typical examples and keep your own face serious. Let the title promise the truth, and use the thumbnail text for something the title doesn't say.
Show the reputation, keep a straight face, withhold the verdict.
Apply this pattern to your next video.
Bring the reference into a packaging brief, then decide what your title and thumbnail should each communicate.
