The Flamin' Hot Cheetos bag is busy, with the cheetah, flames and snacks all fighting for space. The simplified version keeps the logo but pixelates the one image that replaced everything else. You click to see what the whole bag was boiled down to.
The title leaves the brands unnamed, so the thumbnail does the naming with Cheetos, and 'Oversimplified' sets up the fun before you see a single bag.
The yellow ring and pixelation hide just the new image, so you know where the answer is but can't see it, and the dark red bag keeps the brand recognisable.
When your reveal is a simple version of something famously busy, show the busy original in full and ring the spot where your answer sits, blurred. Keep the name or logo visible so people know what it is.
Show the busy original, blur the simple answer.

Bring the reference into a packaging brief, then decide what your title and thumbnail should each communicate.
