The Lay's bag is instantly familiar, so the plain yellow bag beside it with 'Chips' and a bitten raw potato is funny. It's the brand reduced to what it literally says. The bite out of a raw potato is the detail that makes it silly.
'Oversimplified' names the joke in one word, and 'Popular' promises brands you'll recognise, which is what makes the simplified versions funny.
Keeping the same yellow bag and swapping everything else for a childish font and one bitten potato makes the change instantly readable, even at feed size.
If your topic has famous examples everyone knows, strip one down to its most literal, obvious version and show it beside the original. The more literal your version, the quicker the joke lands.
